Mural Ribbon Cutting
Honoring Booneville Native Miss USA 2020 Asya Branch
Booneville native, Asya Branch, made history twice. She was the first Black woman to be.
crowned Miss Mississippi USA and, a year later, she went on to be crowned the first Miss USA (2020) from the 9° Magnolia State. Branch has remained anchored to her home state through her social justice initiative to empower children" of incarcerated parents.

It’s being funded through a grant by MS Hills Heritage Alliance and the Booneville tourism association. This is only one of MANY projects on the Booneville Main Street Association scope of work. Progressive projects + Progressive Board = Moving in the Right Direction!

Today was all about Miss Hospitality in the City of Hospitality. We enjoyed our time with Jaycee Drew Janzen as she educated us on the upcoming state competition in Hattiesburg. Dresses, shoes, jewelry, speeches, presentation, etc., were all “on point”. Festivities and fellowship made for a fabulous Sunday afternoon in the City of Hospitality - Booneville. Something new.... A “Little Free Library” has been installed in the pocket park in historic downtown Booneville. Thanks to Meg Michael for donating this to the Booneville Main Street Association to encourage reading through out the summer.
This fabulous project was completed by Meg as part of her Girl Scout Gold Award.
Books have been donated and we encourage all to “take a book and leave a book.” Bring your family down and tag @BoonevilleMainStreetAssociation or Lori Tucker in a photo of your kids reading at the park during summer break.

Surrounded by so much beauty this morning during the Booneville Miss Hospitality Competition. “Class Act” by all participating and they represented the local civic clubs well. Big shout out to NEMSS for allowing us to use facilities. Jaycee Drew Janzen was crowned the 2022 Miss Hospitality for the City of Booneville. Abby Pitts was awarded 1st Alternate.
